Are you someone who loves working with your hands and has an eye for detail? Do you have some upholstery experience and want to grow your skills in a professional, supportive environment? We’re looking for a talented, motivated Upholsterer to join our team at Ohio Workroom, a 77-year-old upholstery studio known for quality craftsmanship, great design, and a deep respect for the process.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a little upholstery experience — maybe you’ve worked on your own projects, helped in another shop, or done training — and you’re ready to take things to the next level.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Reupholstering furniture using both modern and traditional methods
• Working with a variety of fabrics, foams, and fillings
• Sewing cushions and panels with industrial sewing machines
• Assisting with frame prep, webbing, padding, and finishing
• Collaborating with a team of skilled upholsterers and fabricators
What We’re Looking For
• Some upholstery experience required (formal training or hands-on shop work preferred)
• Familiarity with hand tools, staple guns, and basic sewing machines
• Comfortable with physical work, lifting, and moving furniture
• Attention to detail, patience, and pride in craftsmanship
• A good attitude — willing to learn and be part of a team
What We Offer
• Full-time position, Monday–Friday
• Competitive pay based on experience
• Opportunities for advancement and skill-building
• Supportive work environment with people who care about what they do
• Access to unique designer projects, mid-century pieces, and restoration work
We’ve trained from scratch, but we’re hoping to find someone who already knows their way around a piece of furniture. If you’re ready to put your skills to work in a growing, well-respected shop — we’d love to hear from you.
